Prince William of Wales calls for peace in Gaza
Prince William of Wales has issued a statement calling for an end to the Israel-Hamas conflict as soon as possible and for an increase in humanitarian aid to Gaza. The future king expressed his deep concern over the "terrible human cost" in the region.
Prince William of Wales will carry out important visits to draw attention to the human impact of the conflict in the Middle East and the rising problem of antisemitism worldwide.
"TERRIBLE HUMAN COST"
William emphasized that he is "deeply concerned" by the situation in the region since the terror attack carried out by Hamas on October 7, and that humanitarian aid to Gaza must be increased urgently.
The Prince stated that one should not lose hope even in the darkest of times, expressing his belief in peace and his hope for a better future.
William will meet with aid workers involved in humanitarian efforts and will participate in a discussion at a synagogue with young people who oppose antisemitism.
SUPPORT FROM KENSINGTON PALACE
Kensington Palace stated that the Prince and Princess are deeply concerned by the events of the past year and share the hope for a better future for all those affected.
As concerns grow regarding the situation in the city of Rafah and a key aid delivery point, the international community continues its efforts to prevent the escalation of the conflict.
In 2018, during the first official visit by a member of the monarchy to Israel and the Occupied West Bank, William held important meetings with the region's leaders.
