Prison wall collapses due to storm: 119 inmates escape
In Nigeria, 119 inmates have escaped from a prison that partially collapsed due to a storm.
It has been reported that 119 inmates escaped after a section of a prison in Nigeria's Niger state collapsed due to heavy rain and a storm.
Adamu Duza, spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Correctional Service, stated in a written statement that the heavy rain and storm caused a section of the prison located in the Suleja area of Niger to collapse yesterday.
Noting that 119 inmates escaped from the prison as a result, Duza reported that 10 inmates have been recaptured so far during the search operations launched by security forces.
