Private jet veers off runway and crashes into residential area in Argentina
A private jet veered off the runway during landing in Argentina and crashed into a residential area. Two people lost their lives in the accident, and one person was injured.
A Bombardier Challenger 300 aircraft landing at San Fernando Airport in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, veered off the runway and struck houses in a residential area near the airport.
The two pilots of the aircraft lost their lives in the accident, and the plane caught fire upon impact. Numerous fire trucks and ambulances were dispatched to the scene.
Authorities announced that a 73-year-old resident of one of the houses struck by the plane was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Reports in the Argentine press stated that the pilots attempted to accelerate to abort the landing and take off again due to a problem encountered during the landing, but the aircraft veered off the runway. An investigation into the accident has been launched.
