Putin dismisses Defense Minister
Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. Putin has appointed Shoigu to a new position.
Efforts to form a new government in Russia are ongoing. Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted appointment proposals for ministers today.
Putin dismissed Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and appointed him as Secretary of the Security Council. Nikolai Patrushev, who was serving as Secretary of the Security Council, was also dismissed with this appointment.
Former First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov was proposed to replace Shoigu as Minister of Defense.
