Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed Ground Forces Commander General Oleg Salyukov.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed 70-year-old Ground Forces Commander General Oleg Salyukov via a decree.
Putin has appointed Salyukov as Deputy Secretary of the Security Council. Salyukov had been serving as the Ground Forces Commander since 2014. No announcement has been made yet regarding who will replace Salyukov.
Last May, Putin dismissed Sergey Shoigu, who had served as Minister of Defense for 12 years, and appointed him as Secretary of the Security Council.
