Putin holds phone call with Iran's acting President Mokhber
Russian President Putin held a phone call with Mohammad Mokhber, who was appointed acting president following the death of Raisi.
Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone call with Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, who will serve as acting president until elections following the death of President Ebrahim Raisi.
According to a statement from the Kremlin, during the call, Putin expressed his condolences to Mokhber, as well as to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the entire Iranian people, over the passing of President Ebrahim Raisi and other high-ranking Iranian state officials.
Noting that he knew Raisi well, Putin emphasized that he valued the late president as a reliable partner who made an invaluable individual contribution to the development of friendly relations between Russia and Iran.

Mokhber, for his part, expressed his sincere gratitude to Putin for the empathy and support shown during this difficult time for the country.
The parties also confirmed their mutual intention to further strengthen comprehensive Russia-Iran interaction for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.
