Putin: Russian army continues to strike infrastructure facilities in Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the reserve command post of the Russian Joint Group of Forces and met with Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov and senior military officials.

During the meeting held there, Putin and the military officials discussed the current situation in the Russia-Ukraine War.

Wearing a military uniform during his visit, Putin stated at the beginning of the meeting, "Since the beginning of this year, a total of approximately 6,500 square kilometers of territory and 310 settlements have been liberated. The Kiev regime controls only a little over 10 percent of the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic and 16.5 percent of the Zaporizhzhia region. The Luhansk People's Republic is completely under our control."

"We do not plan to make the security zone a part of peace negotiations"

Putin said, "I would like to remind you that after the Ukrainian Armed Forces entered Russia's Kursk region, the Russian Armed Forces were tasked not only with driving the enemy out of our territory but also with creating a security zone in the adjacent region. This task is being successfully fulfilled. Our goal is to ensure absolute security in Russia's border regions in the future. We do not plan to make this issue a part of any potential peace negotiations that may be conducted with Ukraine."

Regarding Ukraine's attacks on Russia's energy infrastructure and Moscow's retaliations, the Russian President stated, "I would like to note that in response to the Kiev administration's attacks on our industrial, fuel, and energy facilities, the Russian army continues to strike defense industry enterprises and infrastructure facilities in Ukraine."

In the later parts of the meeting, Putin received information from Chief of the General Staff Gerasimov regarding the latest developments on the front line.

"Ukraine has suspended port operations in the Black Sea"

In the report he presented to Putin, Gerasimov stated that they were targeting Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea in response to Ukraine targeting Russian shipping, saying, "In response to the Kiev regime's attempts to block our shipping in the Black Sea, the Russian Armed Forces are targeting Ukraine's port and logistics infrastructure and naval vessels. This situation has led to the closure of Ukraine's major ports in the Black Sea. Following the planned attacks by the Russian army, Ukraine has suspended port operations in the Black Sea."

Stating that the Russian army is targeting strategic points to deal a blow to the Ukrainian army, Gerasimov said, "According to the Armed Forces' plan, attacks are being carried out on bridges of strategic importance, railways, and logistics centers that meet the needs of the Ukrainian army."

Recalling Ukraine's drone attacks and stating that they have made these points their priority, Gerasimov said, "Our highest priority targets are missile production facilities, drone facilities, and their storage and launch centers."

"Russian army has brought more than 1,800 square kilometers of territory under control since September 1"

Pointing out that Ukraine intensified its attacks against Russia in September and October, Gerasimov said, "The enemy country carried out its largest attacks to date on September 19 and 20 to undermine the parliamentary elections held in Russia. Within 24 hours on election day, 1,398 drones and missiles were destroyed on Russian territory. The Russian army, on the other hand, has brought more than 1,800 square kilometers of territory and 92 settlements under control since September 1."

Emphasizing that the Russian army's operations against Ukraine are continuing, Gerasimov added that many Ukrainian soldiers were killed or seriously wounded during the Russian army's activities.
