A statement has been issued by Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov regarding the meeting between Putin and Trump taking place today. It was reported that the meeting will begin at 17:00 Moscow time.

The following statements were included in the Kremlin's assessment of the meeting:

"The Putin-Trump meeting is important; our preference is to resolve the Ukraine conflict diplomatically."

"WE VALUE THE INITIATIVES"

Emphasizing that Russia prefers to achieve its goals regarding Ukraine through political and diplomatic tools, Peskov said, "We value the mediation initiatives of the U.S. and are grateful to the American side for this. If these initiatives truly help us reach our goals through peaceful means, this is certainly preferred."

Evaluating the possibility of a face-to-face meeting between Putin and Trump, Peskov stated that this depends on the decisions of the two leaders, adding, "The meeting needs to be productive and well-prepared."

"THE ELECTION IN ROMANIA IS STRANGE"

Evaluating the second round of the presidential election held in Romania yesterday, Peskov claimed that the election was "strange," stating, "We know the story of a candidate who had a chance to win the election and was removed from the race without justification."

Peskov said that European countries such as France, the UK, and Germany interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.
