Qatar and Israel reach agreement
It has been stated that, as a result of negotiations between Qatari and Israeli officials, medication will be provided to the Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip since the operation launched by Hamas's military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, on October 7.
A statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's Media Office provided information regarding the talks held between Qatari officials and Israel's foreign intelligence agency, Mossad.
It was reported that, as a result of the negotiations, Qatari and Israeli officials have reached an agreement for Israel to send medication to the hostages held in Gaza since October 7.
It was noted that this will be the first time medication is provided to the Israeli hostages since October 7.
MORE THAN 130 HOSTAGES
Hamas's military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, launched a comprehensive attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, citing "responses to the continuous violations against Palestinians and sacred values, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque," during which many Israelis were taken hostage.
During the "humanitarian pause" in the Gaza conflict, which began on November 24, 2023, for 4 days and was later extended for 3 more days through the mediation of Qatar and Egypt, 81 Israeli and 240 Palestinian prisoners were mutually released.
It is estimated that more than 130 Israeli hostages remain in the hands of Hamas.
