Israeli President Isaac Herzog has reacted to International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor Karim Khan's application for an "arrest warrant" for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
In a statement on his social media account, Herzog argued that the ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan's announcement "crossed the line" and that the "international judicial system is facing the danger of collapse."
President Herzog claimed that the application for arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant was a "unilateral political step."

ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan had announced that he had applied for "arrest warrants" for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. According to a written statement from the ICC, Khan had applied for "arrest warrants" for Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas's leader in Gaza Yahya Sinwar, and the leader of Hamas's military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Mohammed Deif, in addition to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
