Red Cross to establish communication centers in earthquake-hit regions of Turkey: Decision published in the Official Gazette

The international agreement between Turkey and Singapore, approved by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has been published in the Official Gazette. Within the framework of the agreement, the Singapore Red Cross Society will establish communication centers in regions affected by the earthquake disaster.

The 'Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between the Ministry of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Turkey and the Singapore Red Cross Society Regarding the Financing of the Construction of Communication Centers to be Used in the Earthquake Zone,' signed on June 19, 2024, was approved by President Erdoğan and appeared in the Official Gazette.

Under the scope of the agreement, it is aimed to construct communication centers in the disaster-affected regions through the cooperation of the Singapore Red Cross Society, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, and the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

Within the framework of the cooperation, where the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change will manage financial matters and operations, the process regarding the construction of the centers will be coordinated by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
