Renowned Mozambican journalist Joao Chamusse murdered
It has been reported that Joao Chamusse, one of Mozambique's well-known journalists, died following a knife attack in front of his home.
Reports in the national media in Mozambique stated that Joao Chamusse was subjected to a knife attack by unidentified individuals in front of his home in the capital, Maputo, yesterday.
It was noted that Chamusse, who was both a newspaper executive and a television commentator, lost his life due to a head wound sustained in the attack.
The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and local civil society organizations have called for an urgent investigation into the murder.
Mozambican authorities have not yet made a statement regarding the matter.
