Russia adds LGBT movement to terrorist list
The LGBT movement has been added to the list of terrorists and extremists on the website of the Russian Federal Financial Monitoring Service (Rosfinmonitoring).
With a decision made by the Supreme Court of Russia in November 2023, the LGBT movement was declared "extremist" and its activities were banned.
Furthermore, under a decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2022, same-sex relationships were included within the scope of "ideas and values destructive to Russian society."
