Russia announces it has captured units under the control of the Ukrainian Army
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the settlement of Staromayorske in the Donetsk region, which was under the control of the Ukrainian army, has been captured.
The Russian Ministry of Defense provided information regarding the Russian Army's operations in Ukraine in a statement.
The statement, which noted that the Eastern forces of the Russian Armed Forces continue their advance in the Donbas, included the phrase "military units have liberated the settlement of Staromayorske in the Donetsk People's Republic."
The statement also noted that Russian air defense units shot down a MiG-29 fighter jet belonging to the Ukrainian Air Force, and further stated that in the last 24 hours, 2 Neptune anti-ship missiles, 2 US-made HARM missiles, 4 French-made Hammer and US-made JDAM missiles, 7 US-made HIMARS and Uragan missiles, and 51 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down.
