Russia: Captures another settlement in Donetsk: Clashes intensify

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced in a statement that it has taken control of the Georgiyevka settlement located in the Donetsk region.

The announcement from the ministry provided information regarding the actions of the Russian Armed Forces in the war in Ukraine.

Stating that the Russian army has improved its positions on the front in Ukraine, the statement used the phrase, 'As a result of their active operations, units of the Southern Military Group liberated the settlement of Georgiyevka in the Donetsk People's Republic.'

The statement noted that in the last 24 hours, attacks were carried out in 142 areas against the Ukrainian army's communication centers, critical airport infrastructure, and locations where Ukrainian soldiers and military equipment were deployed, and it was reported that 41 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were shot down by Russian air defense systems.

The ministry's statement also indicated that since August 6, the Ukrainian army has lost 14 thousand 950 soldiers, 122 tanks, 52 infantry fighting vehicles, 93 armored personnel carriers, and 768 armored vehicles in the Kursk direction.

Russia's statement said the following:

'Since the beginning of the military operation, 646 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 31 thousand 765 UAVs, 579 air defense missile systems, 18 thousand 167 tanks and armored vehicles, 1455 multiple rocket launchers, 14 thousand 813 howitzers and mortars, and 26 thousand 203 special military vehicles belonging to the Ukrainian army have been destroyed.'
