Russia: “Kursk region hit by Western-made rocket launcher for the first time”
Russia has announced that Ukraine struck a strategic bridge in the Kursk region with Western-made missiles, marking the first time it has faced such an attack.
The Ukrainian army has struck a strategically important bridge over the Seym River in Russia’s Kursk region.
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that this attack was carried out with a Western-made rocket launcher and that the Kursk region has been subjected to such an attack for the first time.
According to the report in Haberrus, Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that a US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launcher system was used in the attack, noting that the bridge was destroyed and volunteers providing aid to evacuated civilians were killed.
Ukraine continues to advance in the Kursk region
SUPPLY ROUTES ARE BEING TARGETED
Since August 6, the Ukrainian army has continued to advance in Russia’s Kursk region.
Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk stated that they are targeting the Russian army's supply routes.
Ukrainian Chief of General Staff Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that an advance of 1 to 3 kilometers has been recorded in some areas of the Kursk region and that many Russian soldiers are expected to be taken prisoner.
The Ukrainian administration claims to have taken control of 82 settlements in an area of 1,150 square kilometers in the region since August 6.
