Russia plans to increase military cooperation with friendly countries

Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that his country will not only increase its own defense capacity but also deepen military-technical cooperation with friendly countries. Putin emphasized that this cooperation will also include the joint production of next-generation weapons.

NEW OPPORTUNITIES IN GLOBAL TRADE

In his speech, Putin also touched upon global trade issues, saying that Russia aims to improve relations with its trading partners and create new commercial opportunities. Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov had previously stated that Putin's speech would be comprehensive.

High-level representatives from China, Bahrain, and Indonesia also attended the forum. Details of the cooperation to be established with these countries were discussed at the event, and question-and-answer sessions were held.

GROWTH IN A MULTIPOLAR WORLD

Held between June 18-21, SPIEF 2025 is taking place under the theme "The Foundation of Growth in a Multipolar World: Shared Values." The forum is seen as part of Russia's efforts, which are under Western sanctions, to establish new economic and strategic relations with Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Experts state that these statements by Putin are a sign of a geopolitical restructuring.
