Russia shares data on drone used in attack on Putin's residence with the US

İgor Kostyukov, head of Russia's Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU), stated that they have handed over the decoded flight path data and control device of the Ukrainian-made unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) shot down during the attack on Russian President Vladimir Putin's residence on December 28-29, 2025, to US officials at the US Embassy in Moscow, adding, "We hope this measure will eliminate all question marks and ensure the truth is revealed."

Russian special service officials, on December 28-29,2025, regarding the attack on Russian President Vladimir Putin's residence in the Novgorodregion, theattack in whichtheshotdown Ukrainian-madeof the "Chaklun-B" unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in the navigation unit, a special technical examination was conducted.

Experts, from the navigation unit, the flightplan was excontaining a filethat theymanaged to extract, they reported.

Officials confirmed that the analysis of the drone's flight path dataconfirmed that one of the facilities at Putin's residence was targeted in the attack. In a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense,itIn the statement, it was noted that the data obtained from the analysis would be shared with the US side.

In this context, İgor Kostyukov, head of Russia's Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU), met with US officials at the US Embassy in Moscow.

Kostyukov handed over the materials containing the drone's flight path data and control device to the US side.stating, "The analysis of the drone's navigation control unit memory byexpertshas confirmed beyond any doubt that the target of the attack was the building complex of the Russian President's residence. Ukraine had denied the attackallegations.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, in a statement made on Tuesday,announced thatUkraine hadattemptedto attack the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin in Russia's Novgorodregion. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy,on the other hand, had previously commented on thematter in question.denying the statement and claiming that Russia waspreparing the ground for an attack on governmentbuildings in the Ukrainian capitalof Kyiv and wasmanufacturing excuses to prolongthe war,they stated.
