Russia violates Polish airspace with drones: Trump says 'Here we go'

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a statement regarding the violation of Polish airspace by Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Making his statement on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump said, "What does it mean that Russia is violating Poland's airspace with drones? Here we go."

"WE ARE CONSULTING WITH ALLIED COUNTRIES"

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that they are discussing the matter with allied countries following the request by the Warsaw administration to consult on the incident under Article 4 of NATO's founding treaty after Russian UAVs violated Polish airspace.

In a statement following the North Atlantic Council meeting, Rutte reported that equipment from Poland, Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands was used to shoot down the Russian UAVs in Poland.

Stating that they are discussing the violation of Polish airspace by Russian UAVs upon Poland's request for consultation under Article 4 of the NATO treaty, Rutte said, "Allies have expressed their solidarity with Poland and condemned Russia's reckless behavior."

Noting that a full assessment of the incident is ongoing, Rutte said, "What is clear is that last night's violation was not an isolated incident. The Supreme Allied Commander Europe will continue to actively manage our deterrence and defense posture along the entire eastern flank."

Stating that the incident in Poland shows that allies need to invest more in defense to create a deterrent effect, Rutte said that allies are determined to increase their support for Ukraine "in the face of Russia's campaign of destruction."

Rutte stated that Russia is acting recklessly, saying, "Stop violating the airspace of allies and know that we are ready, we are vigilant, and we will defend every inch of NATO territory."

RUSSIA'S RESPONSE: 'POLAND WAS NOT TARGETED'

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that intense attacks were carried out on military targets in Ukraine yesterday, and that facilities in Poland were not targeted in the attacks.

In the statement made by the ministry, an assessment was provided regarding the claim that some of Russia's unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) violated Poland's airspace.

The statement noted that the Russian army carried out intense attacks on military facilities in some Ukrainian cities, including Lviv, yesterday, and that all targets, including UAV production centers, were hit in said attacks.

Stating that the UAVs used in the attacks, which are alleged to have crossed the Polish border, have a maximum flight range of 700 kilometers, the statement said, "Facilities on Polish territory were not targeted as part of the intense attacks on facilities in Ukraine."

The statement reported that Russia is ready to hold consultations with the Polish side regarding the incident.
