Russian Defense Ministry: 15 Ukrainian vessels hit, 8 settlements captured

The Russian Ministry of Defense has released its weekly report on the war in Ukraine. The ministry reported that 15 vessels, which it claimed were used for military purposes in Ukraine, were hit between August 8 and 14.

The statement noted that the Russian Armed Forces carried out attacks during this period targeting Ukraine's military-industrial facilities, logistics centers used by the army, ports, and vessels.

The ministry's statement included the following: "During the week, a total of 15 vessels used for the Ukrainian army were hit, including 7 dry cargo ships, 5 patrol boats, 2 tugboats, and 1 tanker." No independent verification has been provided by Ukraine regarding the claims in the statement.

The Moscow administration also claimed that the Russian army is advancing in different directions along the front line. According to the statement, 8 settlements in Ukraine have come under the control of Russian forces in the last week.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the capture of Vodyanoye, Ivanovka, and Shcherbakovka in the Kharkiv region; Novoye Pole in the Zaporizhzhia region; and Vasyutinskoye, Toretskoye, Petrovka, and Novonikolayevka in the Donetsk region, which Russia refers to as the "Donetsk People's Republic."
