Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova on Gaza: 'The US is stockpiling weapons'

Attending the 'Russian-Turkish Media Forum' held in Moscow in cooperation with the official Russian news agency TASS and the Global Journalists Council, Zakharova made assessments regarding the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Speaking to Hürriyet, Zakharova stated the following:

"THERE WAS NO POSSIBILITY THAT THE US DID NOT KNOW"

“If there was a year-long preparation as Hamas claims, why did the US, which repeatedly gave security guarantees to Israel, not say a single word about such a development? Can you believe that a superpower like the US, which has military bases in the region, satellites, and the best equipment in the cyber and information fields, had no information about what was happening and was unaware of such a massive operation preparation? There was no possibility that the US did not know about such an operation preparation. The real question is why they did not share this information publicly. Or who they shared this information with. And what happened to this information…”

THEY ALLOWED IT JUST LIKE IN BOSTON IN THE US

Recalling the attack on the Boston Marathon in the US on April 15, 2013, Zakharova said, “Before the terrorist attack, Russia shared information with the US regarding the Tsarnaev brothers. Russia, Russian officials, and the Russian Special Services provided information that they were preparing a terrorist attack against the US and American cities. They did not take it into account at all. They allowed the terrorist attack to happen. As a result, that is the answer regarding what happened (in Israel) and who is responsible,” she said.
