Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, which is the second stop of his three-day Asian tour, following his meetings in Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea.

Putin, who was seen off by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, was welcomed in Hanoi by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong. After being greeted with an official ceremony, Putin left the airport in a motorcade.

Visiting Vietnam for the fifth time, Putin last visited the country in 2017. Putin is expected to meet with Vietnamese President To Lam and sign several agreements, including those in the sectors of trade, investment, technology, and education.

NORTH KOREA VISIT AFTER 24 YEARS

Putin visited North Korea yesterday for the first time in 24 years. Putin's visit was interpreted as an attempt to strengthen the Pyongyang-Moscow alliance's cooperation in various fields, including defense.

Following their talks, Kim and Putin signed a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement.

Providing information on the details of the agreement, Putin stated, "The agreement we signed today also includes mutual assistance in the event of an attack against one of the parties."
