Condolence message from Russian President Putin to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei: 'I will always remember this wonderful man'
Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a message of condolence to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei following the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his companions in a helicopter crash.
According to a statement from the Kremlin Palace, Putin sent a telegram to Khamenei following the death of Raisi in a helicopter crash.
In his telegram, Putin stated that Raisi was an outstanding politician who was held in high regard by his fellow citizens and possessed significant authority abroad, and used the following expressions:

"Please accept our deepest condolences regarding the great tragedy that has befallen the Iranian people with the loss of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and other statesmen. As a true friend of Russia, Raisi made an invaluable personal contribution to the development of good neighborly relations between our countries and made great efforts to elevate these relations to the level of a strategic partnership. I had the opportunity to meet with Raisi many times, and I will always remember this wonderful man.
I ask you to convey our sincere condolences and support to the families and loved ones of the President and the others who lost their lives in this terrible disaster. I wish them and the entire Iranian people fortitude in the face of this heavy, irreparable loss."
