Russian YouTuber tricks Kosovo Prime Minister

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who was "tricked" by a Russian YouTuber, believed he was having a video call with Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics.

A statement from the Office of the Prime Minister of Kosovo confirmed the video call that took place between Kurti and the Russian YouTubers.

The statement said, "The incident occurred on February 11, immediately after the February 9 elections, at a time when Prime Minister Kurti was receiving many congratulatory messages and calls regarding the election results. Due to the high volume, it was not always possible to fully verify every call."

It was emphasized that this unfortunate incident confirms that Russia continues to target Kosovo.

The statement, which expressed regret that Prime Minister Kurti was the target of such a call, added, "This incident once again confirms Prime Minister Kurti's fundamental and consistent stance. Whether in public discussions or private conversations, his position on key issues remains unchanged."

In the recording uploaded to the online video platform Rumble by Russian pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexei Stolyarov, known as Vovan and Lexus, it can be seen that Kurti had a video conversation lasting about 10 minutes on various topics with the person he thought was Latvian President Rinkevics.

Kuznetsov and Stolyarov have previously used similar methods to trick many famous names, including French President Emmanuel Macron, Polish President Andrzej Duda, and former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, as well as Elton John and Prince Harry.
