The government of the Maldives has decided to temporarily ban the entry of Israeli citizens into the country following Israel's increasing attacks on the Gaza Strip.
A spokesperson from the office of Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu announced that a ban on Israeli passports has been introduced in the country.
On the other hand, according to a statement made in recent days, the Cabinet of Ministers in the Maldives had announced its decision to amend the law to prevent holders of Israeli passports from entering the country.
ISRAEL ALSO WARNED ITS CITIZENS
In response, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised Israeli citizens on Sunday not to travel to the Maldives. The Israeli ministry stated that this recommendation also covers Israelis with dual citizenship.
In the statement made by the ministry, it was said, "Israeli citizens currently in the country are advised to consider leaving, as it will be difficult for us to assist them should they encounter any trouble for any reason."
President Muizzu is also preparing to organize a nationwide rally under the name "Maldivians in Solidarity with Palestine" to support Palestine.
