Sandstorm hits Iran

Iran's southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province has been hit by a sandstorm over the last 5 days, leading to a major health crisis.

According to the Tasnim News Agency, 1,362 people have been hospitalized due to the storm, which has been particularly severe in the northern parts of the province.

The sandstorm, which occurred in the cities of Zabol, Zahak, Hamun, Hirmand, Nimruz, Zahedan, Mirjaveh, Nosratabad, Khash, Saravan, Iranshahr, and Mehrestan, has negatively affected the lives of approximately one million people in the region. These intense weather conditions have forced thousands of people with respiratory issues to seek medical attention.

During this period in Sistan and Baluchestan, known as the "120-Day Winds," when wind intensity increases, health problems arise due to weather conditions. Health authorities in the region are continuing their efforts to mitigate the effects of the storm.
