Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki al-Maliki responded to claims by the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen that they had launched missile and drone attacks on "sensitive" sites in Saudi Arabia today.
Al-Maliki stated that the attempts by the Houthis, whom he described as "terrorists," to target civilians and civilian infrastructure in Riyadh have increased, noting that Saudi air defense systems intercepted and destroyed the ballistic missile aimed at the capital before it reached its target.
The coalition spokesperson also reported that the Houthis' attempts to target civilians and civilian infrastructure in the cities of Taif, Jizan, Jazan, and Yanbu were also thwarted by air defense forces.
The Coalition Command reaffirmed its right to take appropriate deterrent measures against Houthi attacks, noting that these measures are implemented within the framework of international humanitarian law.
