Saudi Arabia: Houthis will face the consequences of their attacks

According to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Council of Ministers, chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in the capital Riyadh, discussed national security and regional developments.

In its statement, the Council of Ministers reacted to the Houthi attacks targeting civilians and strategic points, emphasizing that these actions would not go unanswered. The statement also conveyed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the attacks and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

Emphasis on the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait

The statement expressed appreciation for the military operations of the Arab Coalition, which supports the legitimate government in Yemen, aimed at neutralizing the threats posed by the Houthis. It was stated that these operations serve not only to protect the Yemeni people but also to safeguard international peace and security, global trade, and supply chains.

Underlining that Saudi Arabia will not allow threats to the country's security or the obstruction of maritime traffic in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, the statement thanked friendly and brotherly countries and international organizations that condemned the Houthi attacks.

On the other hand, the statement noted that the restoration of flow in the East-West oil pipeline in a short time was welcomed, adding that this situation once again proved the operational flexibility of the country's energy infrastructure and its capacity to respond to emergencies.

Decision on cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Turkey

A series of administrative and international cooperation decisions were also approved at the Council of Ministers meeting.

In this context, a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the fields of science, research, development, and innovation between the Saudi Research, Development and Innovation Authority and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) was accepted.

The Council also approved Saudi Arabia's participation in the humanitarian aid funds of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

It was also decided to authorize negotiations and the signing of a draft memorandum of understanding on cultural cooperation between the Saudi Ministry of Culture and the Syrian Ministry of Culture.
