Saudi Arabia's Ramadan rules announced: Adhan volume reduced
Saudi Arabia, home to Mecca and Medina, has announced new rules for the month of Ramadan, which will begin on March 11, 2024.
The first rule introduced by Saudi Arabia, which has completely overhauled its regulations, is to reduce the volume of the Adhan (call to prayer) to one-third of its previous level.
These new decisions taken by the Saudi Arabian government were broadcast both on social media and in television programs.
HERE ARE THE DECISIONS IN QUESTION
The volume of the Adhan heard throughout the country, in cities and on the streets, has been reduced to one-third via loudspeakers.
Iftar events traditionally held around mosques during Ramadan will no longer be organized.
Events and gatherings for Iftar and Suhoor have also been canceled. People will not gather for such events.
Tarawih prayers will be performed according to the number of rak'ahs without being extended. There will be no recitation of the Quran in between, and the prayer will not be prolonged after each taslim.
When the Quran is recited, the sound will not be broadcast outside the mosque via loudspeakers. The recitation will remain within the place where it is performed.
