The shooting took place at around 09:00 local time at a school in Vantaa, located north of the Finnish capital, Helsinki. In a statement issued by the police, it was stated that 3 students were injured in the attack and a minor suspect was detained.
The police, who warned local residents to stay away from the scene, announced that the injured had been taken to the hospital.
It was learned that approximately 800 students are enrolled at the school, which provides education for grades 1-9, where the attack occurred.
