In Mexico's Puebla state, another mayoral candidate has lost their life in an armed attack during their election campaign.
Another mayoral candidate has been killed in Mexico during election campaigning.
Jorge Huerta Cabrera, a mayoral candidate conducting election activities in the city of Izucar de Matamoros in Mexico's Puebla state, was subjected to an attack by unidentified gunmen.
Cabrera, who was shot in the middle of the street, lost his life at the scene.
WIFE AND AIDE WOUNDED
Cabrera's wife and one of his aides, who were with him during the attack, were also wounded.
A statement from the state prosecutor's office reported that a large-scale investigation has been launched to apprehend the attackers.
ANOTHER MAYORAL CANDIDATE HAD BEEN KILLED
In the country, on May 30, Jose Alfredo Cabrera Barrientos, the mayoral candidate for the city of Coyuca de Benitez, was also shot and killed in front of his supporters while campaigning in Guerrero state.
Voters in Mexico will cast their ballots today for the presidential election as well as at the federal and local levels.
