Senior Hezbollah commander killed

Israel announced that it killed Hassan Hussein Salami, one of the senior commanders of Hezbollah, in an airstrike in southern Lebanon.

A statement regarding the attack was issued by the Israeli military.

The statement noted that Salami, one of the senior figures in Hezbollah, was killed in an airstrike conducted in southern Lebanon.

It was reported that Salami was responsible for the Nasser Unit within Hezbollah and for the firing of anti-tank missiles at Israel.

Security sources noted that Salami held the rank of brigade commander in Hezbollah's military wing.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah also confirmed in a written statement that Salami was killed in an attack on the town of Majadel in southern Lebanon.

The number of Hezbollah members killed in the clashes on the border between the Israeli military and Hezbollah since October 8 has risen to 218.

NEARLY 60 MISSILES FIRED FROM SOUTHERN LEBANON INTO ISRAEL

In another written statement issued by Hezbollah, it was announced that a military base in the occupied Golan Heights was targeted with nearly 60 Katyusha rockets in retaliation for Israeli attacks on the city of Baalbek in eastern Lebanon.

According to a report by Israel's Channel 14, one Israeli was lightly injured as a result of a missile hitting the illegal Jewish settlement of Shtula in the Golan Heights.

The Israeli military, for its part, announced that its warplanes struck the Kawkaba region, from where the missiles were fired at the Golan Heights, as well as Hezbollah military sites in the Ayta ash-Shab region.

In the morning hours, Hezbollah had shot down an Israeli Elbit Hermes-450 type unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with anti-aircraft fire, and the UAV crashed into Lebanese territory.

The Israeli military had announced that it carried out an airstrike on Hezbollah targets in the city of Baalbek, located in the interior of Lebanon, in retaliation for the downing of its UAV.

Reports in Lebanese media stated that Israel hit several warehouses in Baalbek and that there was significant destruction at the site of the attack. Hezbollah announced that two of its members were killed in the Israeli attack.

The Israeli military struck Hezbollah targets in the Baalbek province, located in the eastern region of the country near the Syrian border, for the first time since the clashes with Hezbollah began on October 8, 2023.
