In the Australian state of Queensland, a social media influencer mother poisoned her 1-year-old baby with medication she administered in order to collect donations from her followers. The mother was taken into custody following the incident.
According to reports in the Australian press, a 34-year-old social media influencer claimed that her baby was battling a terminal illness, sharing videos and photos of the baby in distress on social media to solicit donations from her followers.
Following the baby's hospitalization for serious health issues in October 2024, hospital staff in Brisbane discovered the woman's crime. Authorities revealed that the baby had been given a series of medications without medical approval between August 6 and October 15, 2024. The woman, who poisoned her 1-year-old baby with the medication she administered to collect donations from her followers, was taken into custody by the police.
It was stated that the woman collected more than 37 thousand dollars in donations during this period. The woman, who is accused of torture, poisoning, child abuse, and fraud, is expected to appear in court tomorrow.
