Shock from Biden to Kamala Harris: He wore a hat that said 'Trump 2024'
US President Joe Biden wore a hat that said "Trump 2024" at an event where he met with Americans as part of the 23rd anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks.
US President Joe Biden met with Americans at the Shanksville Fire Station in Pennsylvania to commemorate the September 11, 2001 attacks.
During the closed-door event, moments were captured on camera where Biden spoke with a person supporting former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, and then took and wore that person's hat, which read "Trump 2024".
The images, which spread rapidly after being shared on social media, became a hot topic among Republican Party supporters. The party's election campaign X social media account shared the photo of Biden wearing the hat with the message, "Thanks for the support, Joe!"
Deputy White House Press Secretary Andrew Bates stated on X that Biden was speaking about "unity," adding, "President Biden gave a hat to a Trump supporter as a gesture, and then this person told the President to wear his hat as well. He wore the hat for a short time."
