Shocking antisemitic act in the Polish Parliament
An incident that took place last Tuesday in the Parliament in Warsaw has heightened concerns regarding the recent rise in antisemitism and right-wing radicalism.

Hanukkah A Hanukkah menorah lit for the festival was attacked by far-right opposition MP Grzegorz Braun. Braun, who extinguished the Hanukkah candles using a fire extinguisher, targeted the Jewish community
with this act, primarily drawing reactions on an international scale.
Following the scandal, a crisis meeting was held in parliament from which Grzegorz Braun was excluded. At the conclusion of the session, all factions announced their decision to strongly condemn the attack,
Braun's attack was also strongly condemned by various religious and civil society organizations, including the Conference of European Rabbis, the Catholic Church, Holocaust survivors, and the International Auschwitz Committee. Prime Minister Donald Tusk described Braun's action as
"shameful" and unacceptable.While describing it as such, Cardinal Grzegorz Rys apologized to the Jewish community for this aggressive act.
This incident has once again laid bare the dimensions of the rising antisemitism in Poland and across Europe, while highlighting the importance of the fight against antisemitism.
