Show of strength from Donald Trump: First public appearance after assassination attempt
Former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has made his first public appearance following the assassination attempt against him.
Donald Trump, who was the target of an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13, attended the Republican National Convention held in Milwaukee.
As convention attendees greeted Trump with applause and cheers, the former President smiled and waved back at them.

Trump, who attended the convention with a bandage on his ear, was accompanied by J.D. Vance, whom he announced as his vice-presidential running mate earlier today.
ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON TRUMP
Former US President Trump was the target of an armed attack on Saturday while addressing supporters from the podium at a rally in Pennsylvania. One person attending the rally was killed in the attack, and two others were injured.
The US Secret Service announced that the attacker, who fired multiple shots at the podium from an elevated position outside the rally venue, had been neutralized.
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) defined the attack as an assassination attempt.
Following their investigation, the FBI identified the person who carried out the assassination attempt and was killed at the scene as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.
