Singapore Airlines to pay compensation to those injured in turbulence

In a social media post, the company offered to pay 10 thousand dollars to passengers with minor injuries, 25 thousand dollars to those with more serious health issues, and to conduct negotiations for their specific needs.

It was announced that the Boeing 777-300 aircraft, carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew members, encountered severe turbulence over the Indian Ocean. One passenger on the plane died, and dozens of passengers were injured.

Singapore Airlines had announced that the plane experienced "sudden extreme turbulence" over Myanmar.

Passengers described the plane suddenly losing altitude and those not wearing seatbelts hitting the cabin ceiling.

Most of the passengers on the plane were citizens of Australia, the UK, New Zealand, and Singapore.

The plane, which departed from Heathrow Airport, was diverted to Bangkok following the turbulence and made an emergency landing there.

According to initial investigations, it was noted that the plane descended and climbed very rapidly, dropping 54 meters in 4.6 seconds.

The airline had previously stated that ticket fares would be refunded to everyone on the flight.
