Snowstorm in the US leads to flight cancellations
A snowstorm in the US has gripped five states, primarily Nebraska and Colorado. Due to severe weather conditions, approximately 4,200 flights have been canceled across the US since the day before yesterday.
Snowfall and blizzards affecting the north-central parts of the US are negatively impacting travel during the Christmas and New Year's week.
WARNING TO CITIZENS
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued winter weather warnings for five states, primarily Nebraska and Colorado. Highlighting the danger of heavy snowfall and blizzards in these regions, the NWS advised citizens not to travel unless it is an emergency.
The Nebraska State Patrol announced that they have responded to more than 100 weather-related accidents since Christmas Day, December 25.
Meteorological officials warned that heavy rain is expected in the northeast of the country tonight and tomorrow, and that flash flooding could occur in some areas of Washington DC, Philadelphia, and New York.
FlightAware, a site that tracks flights in the country, shared information that approximately 4,200 flights across the US have been canceled or delayed since the day before yesterday due to poor weather conditions.
