Some Muslim leaders in Michigan announce their support for Trump

In Michigan, one of the swing states, there are approximately 242,000 Muslims, and both Republicans and Democrats place great importance on the Muslim vote.

Belal Alzuhairi, one of the Muslim leaders who attended Trump's rally in Novi, Michigan, announced their support for Trump there.

Alzuhairi stated, "As Muslims, we support Trump because he promises peace, not war, and because he has pledged to end the war in the Middle East and Ukraine."

Stating that the bloodshed in the world must stop, Alzuhairi said, "I think this man (Trump) can do it. Personally, I believe there is a reason why God saved his life twice."

While the votes of Muslims in Michigan have traditionally gone to the Democratic Party, Muslim voters have criticized President Joe Biden's Gaza policies due to Israel's genocide in Gaza following October 7, 2023.

In Michigan, where American Muslims and Arabs are most concentrated, harsh criticism of Biden's Gaza policy led to the emergence of hundreds of thousands of "uncommitted" voters.

HE WAS KICKED OUT OF HARRIS'S RALLY

According to a CBS News report, Dr. Ahmed Ghanim, a prominent Muslim Democrat in Michigan, was kicked out of Vice President Kamala Harris's rally on October 21, despite having been invited.

Ghanim stated that he had passed through security checkpoints, taken his seat, and was waiting for the rally to begin when, about ten minutes later, Harris campaign staff told him to leave.

Noting that he was waiting for an explanation as to why he was being removed from the rally, he said he was told, "If you don't leave, you will be detained."

Following the incident, a statement from Harris's campaign team said, "Our campaign regrets this action and its impact on Dr. Ghanim and the community. He is welcome at future events. We value our relationship with the Muslim American community and are committed to ensuring that all community and political spaces are welcoming and respectful for every American."

GAZA SHADOW OVER DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION

Thousands of pro-Palestine protesters gathered in Chicago, the host city of the Democratic National Convention, to march for an "end to the genocide in Gaza" and for the "U.S. to cut aid to Israel."

The large crowd, which gathered in an area near the convention attended by many prominent Democratic politicians, including U.S. President Joe Biden, held a long march lasting about two hours to ensure their message regarding Gaza was heard by both Biden and Kamala Harris.

Thousands of people who participated in the march, which received extensive coverage in the American media, chanted slogans such as "Stop the genocide in Gaza," "Genocide Joe," and "Free Palestine."
