South Korean ruling party leader challenges President Yoon! "His powers must be suspended!"
In South Korea, Han Dong-hoon, leader of the ruling People Power Party, stated that it has become clear that President Yoon Suk Yeol ordered the arrest of prominent politicians during the declaration of martial law on the night of December 3, and that his powers must be suspended to prevent him from engaging in such 'radical' actions again.
South Korean ruling party leader Han Dong-hoon said that South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol must be quickly removed from power.
"HE HAD ORDERED THE ARREST OF THOSE POLITICIANS"
Han Dong-hoon of the People Power Party alleged that President Yoon ordered the arrest of prominent politicians during the now-canceled declaration of martial law.

Han said that if Yoon clings to his presidential authority, the president could engage in another 'radical' act like the 'incompetently declared martial law.'
"HE MUST BE IMMEDIATELY REMOVED FROM OFFICE"
According to the Yonhap news agency, Han, speaking at a meeting held by the ruling party in the National Assembly, said, "Given the newly emerging facts, I believe that President Yoon Suk Yeol must be immediately removed from his duties of protecting the Republic of Korea and its people."

"HE WAS GOING TO DECLARE OPPONENTS 'ANTI-STATE'"
Party leader Han claimed on Thursday that they have confirmed that President Yoon gave orders to Counterintelligence Commander Yeo In-hyung on the night of December 3 to arrest key political figures who opposed the martial law declaration by labeling them as 'anti-state' forces, and that he even mobilized intelligence services to arrest those individuals.

"THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY HAD MOVED TO REMOVE THEM FROM OFFICE"
On December 5, the opposition-controlled National Assembly in South Korea accepted 'impeachment' motions for the removal of the state auditor and three high-ranking prosecutors due to their roles in the relocation of the presidential office and investigations into President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife, Kim Keon-hee.
Han had previously promised to make efforts to block the acceptance of the motion, but the People Power Party decided to reject the motion as official party policy.
