Stabbing attack at a church in Australia: 4 injured
In the Australian city of Sydney, a suspect carried out a stabbing attack during a church service. Australian police announced that the suspect has been taken into custody and that 4 people were stabbed.
The attack took place at the Christ the Good Shepherd church in the Wakeley suburb of Sydney.
A statement from the New South Wales (NSW) state police said, "A police operation is underway in Wakeley following reports of a stabbing. Police officers arrived in Wakeley after reports that several people had been stabbed. Officers have arrested a male, who is assisting police with inquiries. The 4 injured do not have life-threatening injuries and are being treated by NSW ambulance paramedics."
Australian media reported that the attacker targeted the bishop who was at the altar during the service.

On April 13, a stabbing attack also took place at the Westfield Shopping Centre in Sydney, where 6 people lost their lives.
Authorities had announced that the attacker was shot and neutralized by a police officer.
