Statement from the CIA: Attacks on Iran's nuclear program caused serious damage
U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director John Ratcliffe announced that Iran's nuclear program has been significantly damaged by recent attacks.
In a written statement, CIA Director John Ratcliffe stated that recent attacks on Iran's nuclear program have had serious effects. Ratcliffe expressed that intelligence obtained from reliable sources reveals that Iran's nuclear facilities were targeted and that the reconstruction of these facilities would take years.
Stating that the CIA continues its efforts to gather detailed information regarding the U.S. airstrikes on Iran's nuclear facilities in Fordo, Isfahan, and Natanz on June 22, Ratcliffe emphasized that the American public would be informed in line with the principles of national security and transparency.
An intelligence assessment published on CNN suggested that the U.S. attacks did not completely destroy Iran's nuclear program but set the program back by several months. The Israeli military, meanwhile, claimed that while it would take time to fully determine the effects of the attacks, Iran's nuclear program has been set back by years.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei also confirmed in a statement following the attacks that serious damage had occurred at his country's nuclear facilities.
