In a written statement, it was stated that the decision was taken in line with the agreement reached between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.
The statement, which noted that the ban on diesel exports was partially lifted with the decision that came into effect today, recorded that the first phase allows for the shipment of 500 thousand tons of diesel fuel to world markets.
The statement reported that Russian oil companies will begin to enter into export contracts with foreign buyers in coordination with the government.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated that the decision would not negatively affect consumers in the domestic market, saying, "Our production volumes allow us to fully meet the needs of both the domestic market and the specified export quantities."
In Russia, a ban on diesel exports for non-producer companies began to be implemented on January 31, and on July 9, the ban was expanded to include producers directly.
