Statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the meeting held in Jordan: 'Attacks are at an alarming level'

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a written statement regarding the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Arab League Gaza Contact Group meeting held in Amman, the capital of Jordan.

The statement noted that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with his counterparts from the OIC and Arab League Gaza Contact Group in Amman, and that the Gaza Contact Group was received by King Abdullah II of Jordan.

The statement, which conveyed that the meetings addressed efforts to stop Israel's genocide in Gaza, ceasefire negotiations, the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, as well as the increasing occupation in the West Bank and provocations against the historical status quo of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem, included the following: "In addition to the ongoing genocide in Gaza, settler violence targeting Palestinians in the West Bank and the attacks by the Israeli army are at an alarming level. The international community must exert its influence as soon as possible to stop the Israeli attacks that threaten the stability of our region and the international order, and to de-escalate tensions."

The statement further reported that the OIC and Arab League Gaza Contact Group will continue their efforts for the realization of a two-state solution as soon as possible to establish lasting peace in Palestine, and for the recognition of Palestine by more countries and its full membership in the United Nations as the first stage of this process.
