Statement from the U.S. Embassy regarding the reopening of the Iraq-Turkey Pipeline
A statement was issued by the U.S. Embassy regarding the reopening of the Iraq-Turkey Pipeline.
In a statement issued by the U.S. Embassy, it was stated, "We welcome the announcement that the Government of Iraq has reached an agreement with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and international companies to reopen the Iraq-Turkey Pipeline.
Facilitated by the United States, this agreement will provide tangible benefits to both Americans and Iraqis," the statement read.
Stating that this agreement will strengthen the economic partnership between the U.S. and Iraq, the statement continued, "We commend the determined efforts of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and senior officials of the Iraqi government, as well as KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and senior KRG officials, in achieving this progress.
This agreement will strengthen the mutually beneficial economic partnership between the United States and Iraq, promote a more stable investment environment for American companies across Iraq, enhance regional energy security, and consolidate Iraq’s sovereignty," it said.
