Statement on the attack from the UK

Visiting the northeast of England, Sunak made assessments regarding the drone attack on the US military base on the Jordan-Syria border in his statement there. Prime Minister Sunak said, "We are concerned and we urge Iran to continue to de-escalate tensions in the region." Emphasizing that they absolutely condemn what has happened in the last few days, Sunak expressed that their thoughts are with those affected by the incident, those who lost their lives, their families, and the wounded.

The British Prime Minister said, "We stand firmly with our allies to bring stability and peace to the region and we will continue to work for this."

WHAT HAPPENED?

US President Joe Biden announced yesterday that 3 US soldiers were killed in an attack carried out with a one-way drone on a US military base on the Jordan-Syria border. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) also reported that 34 people were injured in the attack.

The Jordanian government, on the other hand, announced that the attack on US forces did not take place on its own territory, but at the Al-Tanf base located on Syrian territory.

The "Islamic Resistance in Iraq" group, which includes Iranian-backed Shiite militia structures in Iraq, claimed responsibility for the drone attack on the US military base on the Jordan-Syria border that killed 3 US soldiers.
