Statement on the health status of Danish Prime Minister Frederiksen following attack

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen was attacked yesterday in the capital, Copenhagen.

In the incident where the attacker was arrested, a statement from the Prime Minister's office regarding Frederiksen's health status reported that the Danish Prime Minister suffered a minor neck injury.

The statement said, "The Prime Minister is healthy and safe, but is in shock from the incident."

The statement, which noted that Frederiksen was taken to the hospital for a check-up, reported that Prime Minister Frederiksen's programs for today have been canceled.

Danish police stated today that the 39-year-old attacker will appear before a judge today, while no explanation has yet been provided regarding the motive for the attack.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated in a post on her social media account that it was an unacceptable act of violence that represents an attack on the heart of democratic values.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen expressed that she was shocked by the attack and condemned it.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico was also subjected to an armed attack on May 15 while greeting the public in front of a cultural center in the town of Handlova, approximately 180 kilometers northeast of the capital Bratislava, and was hospitalized in serious condition.
