Striking remarks on the war in Gaza from former Mossad chief: 'Israel would lose for the first time'

According to reports in the Israeli press, former Mossad chief Tamir Pardo stated that if the war in Gaza ends with the deaths of the 136 hostages held by Hamas, Israel will have lost for the first time.

Pardo remarked, "If we end the war with 136 coffins (the Israeli hostages in Gaza), Israel will have lost for the first time. The state must correct the (mistake of) abandoning its citizens and betraying them."

THE SITUATION OF THE HOSTAGES IS CRITICAL

In another report by KAN, it was stated that dozens of people from the families of Israeli hostages were heading to the city of Caesarea to hold a sit-in protest in front of Netanyahu's house.

Expressing that they have lost confidence in the Netanyahu government, the hostage families stated that they would take action themselves, but did not provide details. According to the Israeli army, there are still 136 Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip.

During the "humanitarian pause" in the Gaza conflict, which began on November 24, 2023, for 4 days and was later extended for 3 days through the mediation of Qatar and Egypt, 81 Israeli and 240 Palestinian prisoners were released in exchange.
