Striking statement on the death of Elvis Presley's daughter: My mother died of a broken heart

Lisa Marie Presley, the only daughter of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley, was rushed to the hospital after suffering a heart attack at her home in Calabasas, but passed away on January 12, 2023, despite medical interventions.

Riley Keough, the daughter of Lisa Marie Presley, who died at the age of 54, has come to the fore with her book "From Here to the Great Unknown," in which she includes her mother's memoirs.

In an interview with People magazine, 35-year-old Riley Keough said, "Because my mother was Elvis Presley's daughter, she was constantly talked about. My goal in completing my mother's memoir was to reveal who she really was behind the headlines."

Describing her mother, Keough used the words, "The best mother, a wild child, a friend, an underrated artist, outspoken, funny, joyful, grieving, extraordinary."

Lisa Marie Presley passed away due to complications resulting from a small bowel obstruction following weight-loss surgery she underwent several years ago.

'MY MOTHER DIED OF A BROKEN HEART'

However, Presley's daughter does not believe her mother's death was caused by this condition.

Keough stated that her mother actually died of a broken heart following the suicide of her brother, Benjamin, in 2020 at the age of 27.

Keough said, "My mother did her best to find strength for me and my little sisters after Benjamin died, but we knew how much she was suffering. My mother died physically due to the side effects of her surgery, but we all knew she died of a broken heart."

Lisa Marie Presley had admitted in 2022 that she would "never be able to move on" after her son's death.

Riley had promised her mother she would help her write her memoirs. After her mother passed away, the actress, who listened to her mother's audio recordings, said, "It was very difficult to listen to my mother heading toward addiction and death."
