Students in India buy exam questions for thousands of dollars

In recent months, hundreds of students were caught at a hotel near New Delhi, the capital of India. The reason was not that they were throwing a wild party, but that each of them had paid an amount equivalent to more than 500 thousand Turkish liras to purchase exam questions. 

While many people who organized this event, dubbed a "cheating vacation," were arrested, an indictment is being prepared against more than 10 people, including a police officer. 

This example highlights the importance of the exams frequently held in the world's most populous country. 

India relies on centralized exams to place students in schools and prospective employees in workplaces. 

Middle-class families pay enormous amounts of money to gangs, wanting their children to gain an advantage in exams and have a better future.

One of the exams where rumors of cheating are most intense is the NEET, which allows entry into medical schools in India.

60 THOUSAND OUT OF 4 MILLION HIRED THROUGH EXAMS

This year, 2.4 million students in the country took the exam. For young people to achieve their ambitions, they need to rank in the top 0.02 percent.

According to the report in Independent Türkçe, only 60 thousand out of 4 million people who wanted to become police officers in Uttar Pradesh, India's most populous state, were hired through exams.

Those who want to obtain exam questions in advance are required to pay 15-20 thousand dollars each to the gangs. 

Many people prefer to invest money in an illegal act rather than get a bad score and pour money into private universities. 

Although authorities, wanting to cut off various cheating methods, have installed cameras in exam centers and are pursuing the sale of questions on social media, illegal ways can still be found.
